Egcobox® Software – Download Version 2.0
The Egcobox® software can be downloaded free of charge to calculate cantilever connection systems. The software includes the following features:
- Selection of different languages and standards
- Input of project data and details of your company
- Choice of different standard geometries/loads with variable measurement
- Input of geometry values and material grades.
- Calculation of the cantilever and choice of the appropriate cantilever connection system
- Input of internal forces and measurements
- Sectional drawing and horizontal projection
- Display of the results on screen and as a Word document

Change(s):
- The top view and the sectional drawing (incl. measurements) have been completely reworked.
- New standards: Slowenia and Ukraine.
- Discontinuous laying of the Egcoboxes is possible (load transmission at points).
- New insulation material: Styrofoam.
- Selection of elements for recessed loggia/veranda balcony: The cantilever is fixed by elements capable of bearing moments. The slab is supported sideways by shear force elements. The shear force elements create a higher 10 mm concrete cover (2nd layer), due to a collision of the reinforcement.
- Selection of elements for internal corner cantilever balcony: The balcony slab is fixed by elements capable of bearing moments. Therefore the sideway facing elements in the corner create a higher 10 mm concrete cover (2nd layer), due to a collision of the reinforcement.
- Switzerland: Preset horizontal load of the handrail: 0.8 kN/m according to SIA 260. In Germany and for all other standards, the horizontal load of the handrail is preset to 0.5 kN/m.
- Switzerland: Preset height of the handrail: 1.20 m according to SIA 260. In Germany and for all other standards, the height of the handrail is preset to 1.00 m.
- The project name is printed out in the structural analysis. Until now the field has been left blank.
- Under some circumstances, an overflow occurred for the line load. Thus the line load was not included.
- For the recessed loggia/veranda balcony, the bearing was not generated correctly. Therefore the internal forces have not been symmetrical. This has now been corrected.
- The line load for internal cantilever balcony is carried out parallel to the joint (the line load has previously been parallel to the fixing furthest back).
- For the Polish standard, the safety factors have been set to dead loads = 1.15 and live loads = 1.3. Therefore the values mEd and vEd from the design table are multiplied with the factor 0.9.
